NOW THAT YOU ARE BORN AGAIN…

You’ve prayed the prayer of salvation (Romans 10:9) which means you are now born again (John 3:3). Your spirit (Biblically expressed as the “inner man”) is now alive to God.

Read the Bible:

I Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” As physical food is needed for physical growth, spiritual food is needed for spiritual growth. The Bible (God’s word) is spiritual food. As you read and study God’s word it will cause you to grow strong in Him. We encourage you to spend a few minutes a day in God’s word. At first it may be tough and you may not understand what you are reading, but stick with it – you will find more peace then you have ever experienced before!

Spend time in prayer:

I Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.” Prayer is communicating with, or talking to God. As you communicate with God in prayer, your relationship with Him will develop. It is easy to talk to God. You can tell Him whatever is on your heart and He will keep it confidential. He will never put you on hold, and you can talk to Him anytime, anywhere – silently or out loud. The greatest part about communicating with God is, not only do you get to talk to Him, but He will also talk to you. That’s right; as you spend more time praying and reading God’s word He will begin to speak things to you. You probably won’t hear an audible voice (most people don’t), but God will begin to speak things to your heart. We encourage you to spend time everyday talking to God and then sit quietly and see if He has anything to say to you. You may not hear anything at first, but as time goes on you will learn God’s voice and you will know when He is speaking – you will hear His voice right down on the inside of you (in your heart).

Attend a Good Bible Teaching Church:

Hebrews 10:25 says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much more as you see the day approaching.” You need to find a good church that teaches from the word of God, so you can get around other believers and be encouraged, strengthened, and given the opportunity to grow. Contrary to popular belief church is not a place you only visit on holidays, wedding and funerals. Church is designed to be a place where you can gather with other Christians on a regular basis – where you can be taught the word of God, and receive prayer and counseling. Church is not meant to be boring, it is meant to be a lot of fun. We encourage you to find a strong Bible teaching church and start attending on a regular basis (even if you work on Sundays, many churches offer services at different times throughout the week).

God loves you so much and so do we. You have just entered into a relationship with your new best friend, Jesus Christ – it was the best decision you’ve ever made, for it was a matter of life or death and now life is yours! Now settle forever in your heart that God’s word is true and heaven is yours. Don’t’ let anyone (including your own mind) talk you out of the truth that you are now born again and Jesus lives inside you.
