The Gates Of Hell Shall Not Prevail

The Gates Of Hell Shall Not Preavail
Matthew 16:13
By Wayne McDonald

Matthew 16:13-19, “When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, whom do men say that I the son of man am? And they said, some say that you are John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He said unto them, but who do you say that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, you are the Christ, the son of the living God.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, blessed are you Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood did not reveal this unto you, but my father which is in heaven. And I say also unto you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto you the keys (or the authority) of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven: and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” You and I have been give the keys of the kingdom.

We have authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing will harm us. Jesus assured us that the gates of hell will not prevail against us. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever been attacked by a gate? Of course not. A gate does not attack us; however, a gate is designed to restrict our movement.

I cant' think of a better trait of the enemy then that of restriction. The devil and our flesh try to restrict us from moving forward in God, but I have good news for you the gates of hell shall not prevail. If you have gotten off course in God and fallen into sin, right now as your reading this teaching confess that sin to God and get rid of it and move on. You can’t afford to stay there blood has been shed for you.
