Get Ready to Reap

Get Ready to Reap
Galatians 6:9
By Laura McDonald

Galatians 6:9 says, “Don’t grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Many times when we are doing what we are supposed to do it is tempting to get weary. We often get discouraged and feel like, “What’s the use.” That is a trick of the enemy. It is at that moment we should not get ready to give up. Instead we should get ready to reap!

There are times and seasons in God. Sometimes it may feel like harvest time will never come, but it has too. God promised it in the word. It is not our responsibility to bring the harvest (that is on God). However, it is our responsibility to keep going until it comes. After that we are to reap.

How many people do you suppose get right up to harvest time and walk away? I remember years ago I was running four laps around a track. I had not done anything like that in a long time. As I started I felt great.

Even after the second lap I still felt pretty good. When the third lap came I knew I could keep running. It was not until the last fifty feet of the last lap that I wanted to give up the most. My body was screaming for me to stop, but I just had to finish. We need to finish what we start in the spirit realm.

Always remember this, when you are close to the “finish line” is the time that the enemy will try to stop you the most. Don’t get discouraged. Keep going and you will reap simply because you did not give up.
