With God

With God
Psalm 60:12
By Laura McDonald

Have you ever done something in your own efforts and it blew up in your face? I remember one time I was ministering in a church. The Lord had given me instructions on what He wanted me to share, but I got “super spiritual” and tried to make something happen on my own. Everyone was very gracious. Wayne said it wasn’t bad, but I knew I blew it. I knew the Lord had wanted to do so much more but He couldn’t because I didn’t go into that service WITH the Lord. Instead I ran out ahead of Him.

Psalm 60:12 (NIV) says, “WITH God we will gain the victory, and He will trample down our enemies.” You will never gain the victory you need in your life by yourself. It must be gained WITH God. That means submitting yourself to Him. That means trusting Him and following His lead.

Wayne and I have been coming out of a season where we were under a lot of attack. There were days that it seemed like all hell was broken loose against us. There were days when I could not see the “light at the end of the tunnel.” The enemy was lying and deceiving and I was buying his lies. I did everything in my own strength to get free and it just wasn't happening. I realized I was not WITH God. Somewhere I had moved into “works” trying to make something happen. As soon as I got out of the “works” mentality and back into a “relationship” mentality with God, things started changing.

It is only WITH God that we gain the victory. I needed Him to speak to me. I needed Him to lead me in His word and show me how to stand. I needed His wisdom and guidance. Once I sought Him things began to change. His word came alive to me. His strength under girded me. Again, Psalm 60:12 says, “WITH God we will gain the victory, and He will trample down our enemies.” Once I was WITH God HE TRAMPLED DOWN MY ENEMIES!”

Whatever you are facing today, don’t face it alone. Face it WITH God. He knows what is really going on better than you and better than anyone else. He will give you counsel and lead you in His word. As you go, “WITH God, He will trample down your enemies.
