Stand Firm

Stand Firm
I Corinthians 16:13
By Laura McDonald

Are you being challenged today? Is there a situation in your life that is trying to get you to doubt what God has promised you? If so, you are not alone and the Bible has an answer for you. I Corinthians 16:13, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

Everyday we need to be on our guard against the enemy. We need to do what Ephesians 6 says and “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” The enemy will try to challenge the word of God in your heart. He will throw things at your mind. He will work on your emotions and feelings just hoping he can get you to doubt. Don’t fall for his tricks. No matter what he puts in your path, “Stand firm in the faith.” Don’t move off of God’s word. Maintain your position and stay right where you are. As you refuse to give in the devil will not be able to steal God’s promise from you.

The devil does not have authority to just enter our lives and take over. Therefore, he comes to us in subtle ways hoping to sow seeds of doubt and unbelief. If he can get us to believe his lies then we will give up God’s promises without even realizing it. Just think about what has been coming against your mind today. If it is stealing your peace and causing you to doubt in any area recognize it as the enemy. Stand your ground and don’t let go. Hold on to God’s word. Speak it out your mouth. Meditate in it and let it get rooted in your heart.

You are not weak today. God has given you His authority. He has given you His word. Don’t let the enemy steal that word form you. “Stand firm in the faith; be a man or woman of courage; be strong.”
