His Eye is on You
His Eye is On You

By Wayne McDonald

Psalm 32:18-19, “Behold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe], who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.”
In this scripture David, the Psalmist (who had a heart after God), was reflecting on the goodness of God. David was a King and he was also a warrior. He knew first hand what it was like to look the enemy right in the eyes. David experienced great mercy and deliverance throughout his life. He was delivered from death and starvation when he was on the run from his many enemies.

David knew firsthand the goodness of God. God’s eye is upon you today, so there is no reason to be afraid. God is a good God and He is good all the time. Many people don’t believe this. Instead of seeing Him as a good God, they blame Him for everything bad that happens.
If a hurricane or tornado comes ripping through town, even the insurance companies call it, “An act of God.” It’s not an act of God. The Lord is not in that business. The wages of sin are death. Sin is the cause and because sin is in this world innocent people do suffer, but that was not God’s plan.

The earth was meant to be a peaceful place, but God told Adam and Eve in Genesis that if they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they would die. When man disobeyed God everything became chaotic even weather patterns. But God is rich in mercy and loving-kindness.
Learn to trust that mercy and exercise your faith to see His goodness poured upon your life. Say out loud, “Today I expect to see the goodness of God and His favour upon my life and family. I expect to be delivered from famine and death and see the loving-kindness of the Lord because His eye is on me!”
