What Season Are You in? Part One
What Season Are You in?
Part One
By Wayne McDonald

Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To everything there is a season, and time for every matter or purpose under heaven.” There are specific seasons that every one of us goes through. Just like we naturally have four seasons; fall, winter, spring and summer. Do you know what season you are in right now? If you are not sure what season you are in ask the Lord to show you.

Daniel 2:20-22, “Daniel answered blessed be the name of God forever and ever! For wisdom and might are His! He changes the times and seasons; He removes Kings and sets up Kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding! He reveals the deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.” God wants you to know what season you are in. When you don’t know what season you are in it is very easy to loose your peace and become very frustrated.

Awhile ago, my wife Laura and I met a woman while we were out ministering. She said she was called to go out and preach. At that time God was delivering her from lots of bondage and she was excited. She had several young children and her husband had just left her.

She kept telling us that God was telling her to go and minister. I believe that was true. I believe that God had a ministry for her but she was trying to step into it in the wrong season. Her number one priority needed to be the kids then her ministry. Some minister’s kids grow up to despise the ministry because they always felt like they were competing with it.

Mom or dad gave more time focusing on the ministry than the kids. When we went back to that town the next year we found out that this woman was frustrated. She was going all over and trying to minister and her household was a wreck. She was in a winter season and she was trying to treat it like spring.

Spring will come! However, in the meanwhile (the while that is mean) be patient and let God develop your faith and character. The things God is showing you will come to pass in their proper season! What season are you in?
