Forget Not All His Benefits
Forget Not His Benefits
BY Wayne McDonald

Psalm 103:2, “Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits”. When most people consider taking a new job they want to know what type of benefits package is available. Benefits are a big thing. Everyone wants to know how many weeks vacation they will get and of course what medical benefits are offered.

All of us want good benefits. God knows that and He has a benefits package that is out of this world. God’s benefit package includes the following: everlasting life, divine healing, peace, joy, love, provision, wisdom, all of the nine gifts of the Spirit, forgiveness, favor, protection, victory over depression, freedom from the spirit of fear, and the list just goes on and on.

We need to remind ourselves of the benefits of serving God. Our enemy constantly reminds us of the things we should not do or touch. He did that to Adam and eve. God told them they could eat of all the fruit in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The devil pointed that tree out to them. They should have looked at what they were entitled to instead of what they were not.

Remind yourself of everything good that you can partake of. Don’t let the enemy trick you into focusing on the few things that God said don’t partake of. I believe if we will stay filled with what God said we could partake of, we will not want the garbage of the world.

Our Father knows what is best for us and He is looking out for you. Listen to His voice when He speaks to you and obey the little promptings of the Holy Spirit that say, "Don’t watch that.Don't read that. Don’t go there." He knows what is best for us. Today remind yourself of all the benefits of serving our great and awesome God. Forget not His benefits!
