Working as Unto the Lord
Working as Unto the Lord

By Wayne McDonald

Ephesians 6:5 “Servants, be obedient to those who are your physical masters, having respect for them and eager concern to please them, in singleness of motive and with all your heart, as [service] to Christ [Himself]”. This scripture is a major key for you to walk in prosperity.

As you do your job as unto the Lord you will be rewarded greatly. When you get to work on time and walk in integrity it will not go unnoticed. Go the extra mile! When you work as unto the Lord your job will take on a new meaning.

I used to work in construction years ago and tried my best to do my job unto the Lord. Sometimes I would miss it and get tired or run late, but I keep on aiming for excellence. Whatever your job is make it your goal to bless that business by giving it your all.

Do a self-evaluation. Ask yourself the following questions: Do I get to work on time? Do I walk in integrity? Do I work for my boss as hard as I would want someone to work for Me? Am I doing my job as unto the Lord? What areas can I improve on?

After you answer each question, write down where you need improvement and what you can do to achieve it. Even a great employee has room for improvement. Take the list with you to your job and begin to work at it. As you do your job as unto the Lord He will bless you and be able to give you more. Keep up the good work!
