Meekness Is Strength Made Tender
Meekness Is Strength Made Tender
By Wayne McDonald

1Peter 5:6 “Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you”. We hate the thought of humbling ourselves or walking in meekness. However the reason we hate it is because we don’t understand it.

Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking about you less. Meekness is not weakness; meekness is strength made tender. Humility is the way you get promoted in the kingdom of God. Everything is backwards in this kingdom. If you want to live you have to die. If you want to hear you have to go deft, figuratively speaking.

As we die to sin and the things that try to take us away from the Lord we truly live the abundant life that God has always wanted for us. God wants to exalt you! When you humble yourself you are set up for a promotion.

In the past when I felt like I was not treated fair in situations I humbled myself and God became my defender and exalted me. One time when Laura and I were ministering in a church we found out that the pastor had said some bad things about us after the meeting to some other pastors.

We did not retaliate we humbled ourselves and God defended us. One of the pastors that heard the junk called us and said this is what I heard so I don’t think I am going to have you come to my Church and minister. We chose to humble ourselves and walk in meekness. Now my flesh wanted to go over to that pastor and say what is your problem.

But I did not do that, instead I said Lord you bring forth our justice as the noonday. Well that pastor called a few months latter and said I like the way you and your wife conduct yourselves why don’t you come to my church and minister. Walk in true humility and God will exalt you!
