True Humility part two

1Peter 5:6 “Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you”. There is true humility and there is false humility. False humility says I am just an old sinner saved by grace. No you were a sinner, but you’re not a sinner any longer.

You might fall into sin occasionally because your flesh rises up but you no longer have that sin nature in you. True humility says I was a sinner but now I am the righteousness of God and I submit to His word. False humility sounds holy but it strips you of your authority. I hear people say brother I am nothing it’s all about God.

No it’s all about you. Jesus shed His blood for you and broke the power of shame and guilt over your life. He paid a high price for you. Just think about how valuable you are, the value of something is based on how much the bier will pay. The blood of Jesus Christ bought you. So don’t walk around with an attitude of false humility that says I am nothing.

You are somebody and God has a great purpose for your life. Religion has songs and teachings full of false humility. I have heard people say I think it’s Gods will for me to be poor so that I will depend on God and not get lifted up into pride. I know of a lot of poor people and they don’t want anything to do with God and that is true pride.

It sounds so good to tell some one I just need enough for me to get by. But the problem with that is it is against the word of God. The Bible says a good man leaves and inheritance to his children’s children. We should leave and inheritance of Godliness and wealth when we die.

When you walk in true humility God begins to lift your life and exalt you in every area. He promised that if you obey His word He would lift you in due time. Lets walk in true humility!
