Imitate Your Father

Imitate Your Father
By Wayne McDonald

Ephesians 5:1 “Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well –beloved children [imitate their father]”. Now for a lot of us today it is rely hard to imitate our father. Because a lot of us grow up with out a father. This is a fatherless generation.

For me I did not meet my biological father until I was 16 years old. According to the world I should be all messed up and dysfunctional. However I learned in 1992 that God is my father and I began to imitate Him. I began to copy Him and follow His example.

As I spent time in His presence I found out that He loved me and He has a sense of humor. Just recently I was leading worship in a Church in New York City and I was singing a song called as I wait. Well the drummer kept speeding up and we kept going faster and faster.

I was singing as I wait you make me strong and it felt like the song was out of control. My first reaction was frustration with the drummer for keep speeding up. All of the sudden my Father opened my eyes and I saw Him lafing and saying that is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

That vision imeditly calmed me right down. I was then able to regain control of the tempo and take the song where God was leading me. What fellowship we enjoy with the Father.

If you have not met the Father yet you can come to Him right now through the blood of His son Jesus. You can begin a brand new life a life free from sham a guilt a life of peace and victory. Prayer, “Father I come to you through the blood of Jesus and I give you my life. I turn my back on sin and I commit to being an imitator of you in Jesus name Amen”!
