Hope For the Hopeless
Hope For the Hopeless

By Wayne McDonald

John 20:20, “He showed them His hands and His side. And when the disciples saw the Lord, they were filled with joy (delight, exultation, ecstasy, rapture).”

After Jesus rose from the dead He showed Himself first to His disciples. Then He revealed Himself to hundreds of others. Before the disciples saw the Lord they had lost their hope. Their dreams were crushed and their faith was shattered.
Everything they believed was being challenged. All of us have times in life where we are challenged to loose all hope. Times when it appears that what we are believing for is never going to come to pass. Don’t give in to that feeling of hopelessness! Instead, focus on the fact that the tomb is empty and you are forgiven.

Today, get a picture of the resurrected Jesus who has defeated everyone of your enemies. Even death is under your feet.” O death where is your sting?  O grave where is your victory?” Death has been swallowed up in victory. As soon as the disciples saw the Lord their joy and hope were restored. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Believe and keep trusting.

All of our dreams go through a death process where it seems like they are dead and buried in the tomb. But suddenly they will be resurrected and will come into full manifestation. To day there is hope for the hopeless!
