How to receive
How to Receive

By Laura McDonald

When we hold our conferences we always make sure we do a Saturday morning meeting which we call “The School of Healing”. The Lord has put on our heart to take Saturday mornings to minister to those who have need of a physical healing or those who have a desire to minister to those who have need of a physical healing.

However, the topic that the Lord has directed me to teach on does not just apply to the area of healing. The principles we are going to learn can be applied in every area of our life. Whether it’s family situations, financial situations, whatever you may be facing today.

Therefore, I encourage you to enjoy God’s word and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you during this time. As I stated, the title of this devotional is how to receive. There is not one person that is a believer who has not asked God for something at some point in their life.

In fact there probably is not a day that goes by that we don’t have some sort of prayer request going up to the Father. Many of us are very good at giving God our prayer list and notifying Him of when we need something, but on the other hand, it is not just the giving our prayer requests that determine whether or not we get the answer.

Our answer comes as a result of us knowing how to receive that answer from God. There are a lot of scriptures on the topic of receiving. Let’s look up a few scriptures that pertain to the topic of receiving. (Look up each verse and have them underline the word receive).

Psalm 24:3-5 (3) “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place?” (4) “ He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully.” (5) “ He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.”

John 16: 23,24 (23) “ And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.” (24) “ Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” After you ask believe you receive and step out in faith like it's done.
