The Five-Fold Ministry part three
The Five-Fold Ministry part three Monday April 20, 2009 By Laura McDonald Ephesians 4:11-12 And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. Vs 12 His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of the ministering toward building up Christ’s body (the church). All 5-fold ministry offices have the same purpose but are called in different areas. Think of it in terms of building a house. You wouldn’t just hire one man to do the job. You’d hire different contractors: builder, plumber, electrician, etc… each contractor would have men that work under them in a specific field. As everyone does their part they bring unity and the house comes into full manifestation. Jesus is the Master builder the five-fold ministry gifts are the sub contractors who train workers in various fields. The workers represent each individual using their gifts and talents. The house represents the body of Christ in full manifestation.
