The Five-Fold Ministry part two
The Five-Fold Ministry part two Sunday April 19, 2009 By Laura McDonald Ephesians 4:11-12 And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. Vs 12 His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of the ministering toward building up Christís body (the church). The five-fold ministry helps us learn how to speak Godís truth/His word in love (not condemnation). As a result we will grow into Jesus who is the head of the body. If someoneís head is much bigger than their body, you could say they have a deformity. Well the five-fold ministry has been given to the church so that we grow to the place where we fit the head, Jesus. You can look over the past 100 years and see the growth within the body, how did this happen? The five-fold ministry: John G. Lake, Amy McPherson, Jack Coe, A.A. Allen, Catherine Coleman, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, Benny Hinn, etc. The whole body receives life, direction, and wisdom, from Jesus. How do we receive? Through the five-fold ministry who teaches and demonstrates the word. As the body receives life and is joined together, with each person doing his or her individual part in the corporate body, we will grow and be built up in love.
