Everlasting Covenant part two

Everlasting Covenant part two

By Wayne McDonald

Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace [who is the author and giver of peace], who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament).

Here is the definition of a covenant. A solemn agreement between two parties of equal or unequal authority. Before you wanted anything to do with God, He forgave you and liberated you. Romans 5:11 while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. We equate our salvation to the time when we gave our heart to Jesus. But the Bible says that God forgave us before we wanted anything to do with Him.

When Jesus died on the cross you died with Him. When He rose from the dead you rose. He took your nature of sin and gave you His nature of righteousness. He cut a covenant with you that He will never break. All that God requires from us is to simply believe and receive. Here is the bottom line the blood bought you and the blood keeps you.

1Corithians 11:23-34 Talks about the covenant table of the Lord or communion. You partake of the juice symbolic of the blood and the bread symbolic of the body of Jesus. Vs 27 says don’t take communion unworthy or with out understanding or to pass the time. Vs 30 For this reason many are sick and die early because they don’t understand the significance of the blood covenant.

When you take communion don’t come to that table feeling guilty but come with boldness and a heart of repentance. Discern the body and blood of the Lord Jesus to liberate you in every era of your life. If you have any sin in your life simply confess it to the Lord turn your back on it wage ware against it and move on. We have an everlasting covenant!
