Words That Bring Life
Words That Bring Life
By Wayne McDonald

Ephesians 4:29 (Amp) says, "Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it."

Have you ever listened to yourself  speak? Do your words build people up or tear them down? Do they bring life or death? Many believers have picked up the vocabulary of the world. I listen to believer’s say, "I am just dying to go. I am scared to death, and my back is killing me. My head is killing me. Nothing ever goes right for me. It seems like I take one step forward and two steps back. I am sick and tired. You make me sick.. take care.. good luck. I can’t believe it."

As gas prices drop I hear people say they are just dropping the price because they are going to really hike it up again soon. Some people are just so negative.  In order to only speak good and positive things all the time you need to fill yourself with a steady diet of God’s word. Jesus said, "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." I always know what is going on in someone's heart when I hear them speak.

If you are always speaking death your life will be filled with it. Make an effort today to only speak what is edifying, that it will bring grace and encouragement. Your words can change someone’s life forever. Pray this prayer outloud today: I break the power of every negative word I have spoken in Jesus name and I am only going to speak words that bring life! In Jesus name Amen!
