Knowing the Voice of God
Knowing the Voice of God
By Wayne McDonald

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd and I know and recognize My own, and My own know and recognize me. Knowing the voice of your Father takes time. There are many voices in the world today that are trying to get your attention.

Here is the bottom line.To know His voice you must spent time with Him. Matthew 6:6-7 But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you in the open.

And when you pray, do not heap phrases (multiply) words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking. In other words, close your self off with your Father and don’t just religiously go through the motions.

It is such a joy to know Him and to distinguish His voice. One time I was on my way to speak at a meeting and I heard, “watch out for the dear”. I took heed to what I heard and over the next hill a dear went across the road in front of me.

My Fathers voice is clear to me; I know His voice because since 1992 I have spent lots of time with Him. When the Father speaks to you He will speak to your born again spirit. Your spirit is like a receiver. If you are not born again and have not surrendered your life to Him, your receiver is not on. I know this from experience.

Growing up I would hear my mother say the Lord spoke to me. I use to think that’s crazy! I don’t hear Him. I did not hear Him because my receiver was not on. When I received Him I started to hear His voice immediately. To day close your self in with your Father and expect to hear Him. His sheep know His voice.
