The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
By Wayne McDonald

Acts 1:8, "But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bonds) of the earth."

In Acts 2:1-31 (please read) it’s clear that when the Holy Spirit comes on you He brings power. The men and woman in the upper room in Jerusalem were just like you and I. They were everyday people facing everyday problems. I don’t know about you, but I can use all the help I can get to help me live in victory. Lets look at the life of Peter.

Before the baptism in the Holy Spirit, Peter denied the Lord three times. After the Baptism in the Spirit he be came a gladiator. He boldly spoke the word and three thousand people responded and came to Christ. Being baptized in the Holy Spirit brings power. I am not talking about being baptized in water or joining some denomination or church. I am talking about being filled with the life of God.

In 1992 I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and began to pray in other tongues. I noticed a big change in my life. I experienced more power to resist sin and more power to live for God. God filled one hundred and twenty people in the upper room in Jerusalem two thousand years ago. It then spread across the whole world.

In America in 1906, men and woman met together in a place located in Los Angles, CA on Azusa Street. They were hungry for a move of God and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. That was known as, "The Great Awakening." As a result over one hundred million people have been baptized in the Holy Spirit here in America.

If you would like to be filled with the Holy Spirit Just ask Him to fill you right now. Do it by faith then open your mouth and begin to pray in that new prayer language.
