Heal the Sick
Heal the Sick

By Wayne McDonald

Matthew 10:1 “And Jesus summoned to Him His twelve disciples and gave them power and authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out, and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of weakness and infirmity.”

The word disciple means a learned one. These men followed the teaching of Jesus; therefore, they were His disciples. It is the same for you and I. We are Jesus' disciples if we follow His teachings in the word of God.

If you are a disciple of Jesus, you qualify for healing the sick. All of us have many opportunities to pray for the sick everyday. All it takes is boldness and guts. You have to understand if you are going to step out and minister to the sick you are going to face resistance. Sometimes the resistance will come from other well meaning Christians.

They may say things like, "Maybe God will heal them and maybe He won't. No one knows what God is going to do." No! That is not true. God’s word is God’s will. You have to settle that once and for all. My wife Laura and I, have prayed for thousands of people over the years. We have seen with our own eyes hundreds of people touched by the power of God.

Many years ago we saw a woman in Texas totally healed. Actually God did a creative miracle and restored deteriorating discs in her back! We have seen people with hearing loss receive their hearing back. I have also witnessed God touch people out of church settings as well.

One time I was giving a little girl a piano lesson and as I about to leave I noticed that the girl was in pain. I ask her grandmother if I could pray for her. She said yes. I prayed for the girl and rebuked that sickness in Jesus name. All the pain left! The next week her grandmother grabbed me and told me that her grandchild recovered right after she received prayer.

When I prayed for that girl I did not feel a thing. I just stepped out by faith and put a demand on the word of God. If you will step out by faith you will see the sick healed too. Step out today and just go for it!
