Freedom From Guilt
Freedom From Guilt
By Wayne McDonald

Romans 8:1, “Therefore [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus. Who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

Being free from condemnation and guilt is the greatest feeling in the world. Are you living with a sin consciousness? Do you feel guilty all the time? Do you think to yourself, "I don’t pray enough, or read the Bible’s never enough?"

Our enemy the devil is a master at twisting the truth. He tried to twist the truth with Jesus. In Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus was directed by the Spirit to go out into the desert and fast and pray.

During this time the devil came and began to try to twist the truth. He placed Jesus on the top of the temple and told Him to cast Himself down. He told Him that it was written in the word that God's angels had been given charge over Him and they would protect Him.

Our enemy was quoting a verse from Psalm 91. He was taking what was designed to bring life and protection and he twisted it. His goal was to get Jesus to jump and commit suicide.

Has the enemy been twisting the truth on you? When your pastor is preaching do you find yourself feeling guilty? Instead of letting the word challenge you does the enemy condemn you with it?

Remember, we must always hear everything through righteousness.

Righteousness is your right to come into God’s presence without any consciousness of shame or guilt - just as if you have never sinned.

We need to be open to the Holy Spirit to convict us and bring real change; however, we are not supposed to walk around feeling guilty and bad. If you feel that way, you need to take off your old sin conscious garment and put on God’s garment of righteousness. As you do this you will live totally free from guilt!
